Holiday Cocktails Part #1: Mulled Wine and Hot Apple Cider

Ok guys this post is mixing 2 of my very, VERY favourite things, Christmas (because I'm a huge kid at
heart) and Red Wine! I don't think it will be news to you all that I love myself a glass, or 3 (don't judge), of red wine. With this being said here we have one of the most traditional
holiday cocktails around; mulled wine. And for our non-alcoholic option we have a Hot Apple Cider. Check back on Christmas Eve for our Holiday Cocktails Part #2!
Mulled Wine
Ingredients:
1 bottle of red wine of your chosing
3 cups apple cider
1 Orange sliced
5 whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks
3 star anise
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan and bring to a simmer
Allow mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes
Pour into wine glasses and serve immediately
Yield: about 6-8 glasses, depending how big the glasses are ;)
Time: 25 minutes

Hot Apple Cider (Not Shown)
Ingredients:
5 cups apple cider
Zest of one orange
5 whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks
3 star anise
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan and bring to a boil.
Allow mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes
Pour into wine glasses and serve immediately
Yield: about 4 glasses
Time: 25 minutes
