Today's recipe is not a cookie per-se but it is a treat that needs to be on every Christmas sweet table! Mixing of chocolate and peppermint is one of my favourite holiday combinations. Store-bought peppermint bark is kinda expensive so why not make it yourself! Peppermint bark is also another perfect homemade gift. Get busy in the kitchen making batches for friends and family, or just to satisfy your own sweet tooth!
Ingredients:
2 cups milk chocolate chips
2 cups white chocolate chips
1/2 cup crushed candy canes or starlight mints
Directions:
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper
Melt milk chocolate chips and pour in single layer on parchment paper. Place in freezer to harden, about 10-15 minutes.
Melt white chocolate chips and pour in single layer on top of milk chocolate. Sprinkle with peppermint bits, press slightly on top so the candy pieces set in the chocolate. Again place in freezer to harden, about 10-15 minutes.
Using a sharp knife cut into squares.
Time: 30 minutes
Yield: about 12 2"x2" pieces
